Developers hunting through the recently released beat version of iOS 13 have apparently found a reference to the date the next iPhone will be introduced. A screenshot labeled “hold for release” buried in the beta has a date on it: September 10.
This image is of an iPad’s home screen and therefore shows the complete “Tue Sep 10,” according to the Portuguese-language siteiHelp BRM. A second image is of an iPhone home screen, and it includes the Calendar app displaying “Tuesday 10.”
Images similar to these have been built into previous iOS versions with the date of Apple’s fall press event permanently on them.
We already suspected this
Apple is in a groove with new iPhone introductions. For years now, they’ve been introduced during the second week of September and reached customer hands a week or so later. For example, the company’s press event last year was Wednesday 12 September, and the new handsets debuted Friday 21 September. Tuesday the 11 September was used in 2018 for obvious reasons.
Looking ahead to the iPhone 11 Pro
With the unveiling not set for several more weeks, any information on Apple’s next iOS models is rumor and speculation. Still, these have painted a fairly complete picture.
The company is going to release three models: theiPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. These will replace the iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max respectively and have the same respective screen sizes. They’ll all be out next month.
The most significant change in both iPhone 11 Pro models is expected to be a trio of camera lenses, up from two in their predecessors. The third will supposedly be a very wide-angle.
In addition, they might sport reverse inductive wireless charging, allowing them to send power to another device, like the AirPods wireless charging case.
The iPhone 11 is expected to be available in South Africa early in October.
